Nauka Svyaz Selects VocalTec For VoIP Net

Nauka Svyaz, a universal telecom carrier providing telephony and data communications to carriers and corporate clients in Russia, has selected VocalTec's Essentra VoIP technology to set up its National/International NGN network.
Nauka-Svyaz, a licensed service provider, will deploy VocalTec's Essentra CX Trunking solution as part of its program for regional development and expansion. The VocalTec solution will help Nauka-Svyaz offer its Telco and ISP customers seamless connectivity to PSTN/SS7 services, while enhancing service flexibility and enabling the rapid addition of new services and applications.
"Vocal Tec's solution satisfied all of our technical requirements and we selected their Essentra technology after having looked at various competing solutions," said Andrey Viktorov, director of special projects at Nauka-Svyaz, in a statement. "We value VocalTec's vast experience in building NGN networks as well as their professional approach to doing business and see VocalTec as a strong and committed partner in this project, which represents a huge business opportunity for us."
The deployment also includes the Essentra EX Peering Manager, enabling secure IP-to-IP routing and service mediation, the Essentra OSS operational support server, a centralized, web-based management system enabling remote element management, service configuration, monitoring and provisioning. Furthermore, the Essentra BAX, application server is being evaluated by Nauka -Svyaz as part of its plan to offer local telephony services to its customers.
According to the news release, the project and implementation will be managed in partnership with INTechnologies, a Russian Systems Integrator and trusted VocalTec partner. INTechnologies provides VocalTec solutions of various scales for all Russian telecom market segments since 1999.
