Allworx to Co-Present ITEXPO East Session for Service Providers on Reaching the SMB Market
By Mae Kowalke, TMCnet Associate Editor
For small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), upgrading network and telephony systems to take advantage of voice, video and data convergence holds many appeals. There’s just one problem: managing the increasingly complex environments needed to support those applications is beyond the means of most SMBs.
The solution to this conundrum lies in outsourcing the complex tasks to managed service providers (MSPs) and enterprise VoIP service providers (EVSPs)—companies with the resources to proactively manage and support IT, IP and VoIP telephony infrastructures for a fixed monthly fee.
Market opportunities for MSPs and EVSPs is the topic of a workshop titled “ Reaching the SMB Market: Best Practices,” to be held at Internet Telephony Conference & EXPO, East, January 23-26, 2007 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Among the presenters of the session, scheduled for Jan. 23 from 4:15-5:00 p.m., is Sandra Gault, Executive Vice President of Allworx, a company that specializes in VoIP phone systems for SMBs.
The session will focus on the topic of outsourcing from the perspective of service providers, who stand to benefit from higher operating margins, recurring revenue streams, and long-term customer relationships.
But, along with these opportunities come increased pressures, new liabilities, and fresh operational challenges for MSPs and EVSPs. The session will deal with the challenges facing providers and present technologies available to help manage the paradigm shift occurring in business models.
