RADWIN Debuts RADWIN 2000 WiMAX Backhaul Solution

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributing Editor

RADWIN providing advanced wireless broadband solutions announced its portfolio for WiMAX (News - Alert) backhaul. The RADWIN 2000 is the latest entrant to the RADWIN portfolio. A High-Capacity solution which satisfies the needs of WiMAX operators and Internet Service Providers (ISPs), RADWIN 2000 is capable of providing 50 Mbps full-duplex net throughput with an extended range of 120 km that is 75 miles.

“WiMAX is moving towards large-scale operations and WiMAX operators have to cope with heavy investments in infrastructure and an emerging subscriber base,” said Adi Nativ, RADWIN’s VP Marketing and Business Development.

“Backhaul is an expensive component of network build-out - and that is why it is crucial to use the right backhaul solution. RADWIN 2000 is the right solution because it meets both the business and technical needs of WiMAX operators, delivering unparalleled performance at the most competitive price in the industry,” he further explained.

RADWIN 2000 is very simple to install and deploy. It includes advanced OFDM and MIMO technologies besides a robust air interface. This feature enables RADWIN 2000 to support multiple frequency bands ranging from 4.9 to 5.8 GHz on one platform providing more field flexibility. Operators and service providers prefer RADWIN 2000 for its reliability and scalability features which will give them an edge in the global communication market.

RADWIN 2000 serves many Ethernet applications like backhaul for WiMAX and IP networks, high-capacity data transport and private networks.

Nativ also said that his company has started deploying RADWIN 2000 in several large-scale WiMAX backhaul projects in India and Africa. RADWIN is conducting trials in several other locations throughout the world too.

RADWIN is also a member of the WiMAX Forum (News - Alert) for the promotion of backhaul as a part of the WiMAX ecosystem. By working in tandem with other WiMAX system vendors RADWIN aims to provide joint customers with a full turnkey solution.
RADWIN proposes to highlight the RADWIN 2000 solution at the WiMAX Forum Congress to take place in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil this week.

Israel-based RADWIN specializes in wireless broadband solutions in the sub-6GHz space. This allows operators to provide connections to its subscribers at any location. The company’s solutions deliver voice, video and data, all on a single platform. RADWIN solutions are installed by its customers in more than 110 countries.
