More Business Professionals Turning to Video Conferencing: Study

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

In a bid to better communicate and collaborate, more and more business users across the world are turning to video conferencing services.

These findings are the result of a recent survey by Research Now of over 1,200 business professionals in the U.S., Japan, South Korea and China.

According officials with Global IP Solutions (News - Alert) or “GIPS” - which sponsored the survey- the results, underscore the increasing value of business communications.

'With demand for Unified Communications (News - Alert) and desktop video conferencing on the rise, video quality issues such as delay and freezing must be addressed in order for users to effectively connect and collaborate,' said Joyce Kim, Chief Marketing Officer at GIPS.

While 61 percent of survey respondents said video delay and freezing were among their largest concerns with using video chat, 40 percent of the respondents from the U.S. also said their company’s plan on deploying video communications over the next 6-24 months.

Another recent study by Dell’ (News - Alert)Oro Group forecasts that the market for UC solutions – which include video conferencing – will outpace the overall enterprise voice market through 2014.
