Aastra Intros New SIP Touch Screen Phone Model at ITEXPO: InterviewBy Kelly McGuire, TMCnet Editor While attending the ITEXPO (News - Alert) East in Miami from Jan. 20-22, as a TMC Web Editor, I had the lucky job of sitting down with leading executives from top companies in the telecom industry to discuss various trends in their business, as well as how the show was going for them, and what to expect in the upcoming year.
One of the individuals I met with and interviewed on set was Aastra’s (News - Alert) Vice President of Sales and Indirect Carriers, John Drolet, who discussed the main focus the company that develops innovative and integrated communications solutions for the SMB and large enterprise world, was exhibiting at the ITEXPO.
According to Drolet, at the show, the company was focusing on presenting to fellow attendees, potential partners and every business, the new executive phone, released just around the holidays, the 6739I.
And, as an Aastra phone user, I was intrigued to find out about the new upgrade.
“It’s a full colored, touch screen; the screen is 5.7 inches and is the world’s largest SIP phone, which is color screen,” Drolet said. “It provides a Blue Tooth interface; it has a USB port in it, over 55 soft keys that can be programmed through multiple menus.”
“It has a full query keyboard for doing changes and adjusting keys,” he added.
The list of features can go on and on, and when I ventured to the booth afterwards to see a demo of the phone, I was quite amazed at the color touch screen and advancements the phone now has.
“It’s kind of an all in one device that we really think is going to be a foot hold in our marketplace,” Drolet said.
One thing’s for sure: when it’s time for a new phone in my office, I’ll be begging my boss for this new model, the Aastra 6739I.
