VoIPSwitch's Symbian Dialer Offers Low-Bandwidth Consumption

A London-based developer of VoIP platform solutions has announced a new version of their Symbian (
News -
Alert) Nokia dialer which features low-bandwidth consumption.
According to officials with Voiceserve subsidiary, VoIPSwitch, the new dialer uses a special compression algorithm that allows 50 percent savings in bandwidth consumption.
This improvement is especially beneficial for clients making calls over very low bandwidths, or from blocked areas like the UAE.
Earlier last year, the company
announced its software had been accepted into the Symbian Foundation.
As a member, it is possible to license the Symbian Foundation platform royalty-free and work together with other companies and working groups as well as participate in joint marketing programs.
The company also recently announced it will also be
participating in the upcoming ITEXPO (

Alert) East conference where their newest IP-PBX software module will be on display.
