AudioCodes Intros MSBG PLUS an Open Platform for Unified Communications

AudioCodes, a provider of VoIP technologies and Voice Network products reportedly introduced MSBG PLUS, an open platform for Unified Communications (News - Alert) or UC for small and medium enterprises.

 

MSBG PLUS is an enhanced version of the Mediant 1000 MSBG which is a Multi-Service Business Gateway (News - Alert) with networking capabilities that combine a Media Gateway, enterprise class Session Border Controller, Data Router & Firewall, LAN Switch, WAN access and Stand Alone Survivability. It offers true convergence of applications and networking infrastructure on a single platform allowing third party applications to run on top of the Mediant 1000 MSBG PLUS, company officials said.

 

The MSBG PLUS allows the use of multiple general purpose advanced mezzanine card computing server modules. Several applications can be hosted on these integrated servers which can run Windows and Linux Operating Systems for the creation of a tightly integrated 1U networking and applications platform for SMEs.

 

Microsoft (News - Alert) with the Office Communications Server 2007 Mediation Server, 3Com Integrated Branch Communications Platform, and Nortel with the Software Communication System utilize the openness capabilities of the Mediant 1000 MSBG product family, company sources said.

 

Resellers and system integrators of the company employ Mediant 1000 “MSBG PLUS” for embedding other applications like Open Source IP-PBX (News - Alert), Faxing Servers, Recording applications and others.
