ESTOS and snom Team Up to Bring UC and CTI to VoIP PhonesBy Marisa Torrieri, TMCnet Editor snom Technology AG announced today it has joined forces with unified communications service provider ESTOS to ease the deployment of Microsoft (News - Alert) TAPI-enabled business applications.
A developer and manufacturer of advanced voice over IP phones for enterprise and residential markets, snom will use ESTOS’ ECSTA middleware to convert snom’s “Computer Telephony Integration” interface protocol for the Microsoft TAPI standard.
When used with ESTOS ProCall solutions, ESTOS ECSTA for snom allows both companies to deliver UC and CTI (News - Alert) functionality to medium-sized businesses and service providers.
Additionally, the new ESTOS ECSTA for snom middleware helps snom’s 3XX Series and 8XX Series intelligent VoIP telephones to support additional call center, CTI and unified communications applications in both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows operating system environments. The middleware also allows snom phones to take advantage of multiple functions – such as making, answering and retrieving calls -- through TAPI-enabled applications.
ESTOS ECSTA for snom is available in two versions: a solution for single seats and a solution for networks. The single seat version of ESTOS ECSTA for snom and ESTOS ProCall One is designed to enhance productivity for small offices and telecommuters. Features include click-to-call dialing from Microsoft Outlook.
The network version of ESTOS ECSTA for snom and ESTOS ProCall Enterprise is aimed at medium-size businesses with larger corporate networks or service providers that want to take advantage of UC functionality such as CTI, instant messaging and presence management.
Both versions are offered in license packages based on the number of lines required and both are compliant with 32-bit and 64-bit Windows operating systems, including Windows XP Professional, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 2000, 2003 and 2008 Server.
