AT&T Business Solutions Reports a Great QuarterBy David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor AT&T Business Solutions has reportedly ended an active second quarter, which saw the introduction of a utility-based, storage-as-a-service offer, a small business bundle for wired and wireless service starting at under $100.
Globally, the business unit announced a number of agreements with telecom service providers to "expand its worldwide reach." Other highlights include the introduction of AT&T (News - Alert) Telepresence Solution offer with multi-point encryption features for greater security.
Officials of the unit said that they remain committed to increasing their commitment to smart grid technology through a commitment with Cooper Power Systems to jointly market and sell to utility companies smart grid sensor devices certified on AT&T's wireless data network. The unit also launched an AT&T private content distribution service for the delivery of rich media content behind the corporate firewall. As to the unit's global designs, they signed a "go-to-market" agreement to develop and deploy telecom projects with TDC, a communications vendor in Denmark and the wider Nordic business market. They also concluded a memorandum of understanding with Telkom South Africa, and in April opened a new regional headquarters office in Dubai Internet City (News - Alert) to work the Africa and Middle East market. Earlier this month TMCnet reported that AT&T announced a bundled offer targeted at small businesses that includes wireless, wired and high speed Internet services, starting at less than $100 a month. AT&T called it a "demonstration of its ongoing commitment to providing affordable products for small businesses in a tough economy."
The "All for Less" bundle is now available to qualifying small business customers, or one to four lines in a single location, across AT&T's 22-state footprint. The services, which come on one consolidated bill, include wireless from AT&T where customers will be able to conduct business wirelessly with 450 minutes each month per wireless device on a 3G network, available in nearly 350 U.S. metropolitan areas. It also offers AT&T High Speed Internet Business Edition in "a variety of speeds," with U.S.-based business-class technical support, all-in-one protection suite for selected tiers, up to 11 e-mail accounts and AT&T Wi-Fi connectivity at more than 20,000 hot spots nationwide and more than 90,000 hotspots worldwide.
