Increase in Mobile Device Integration with Mformations's Advanced MDM Platform

By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Mformation Technologies Inc specializing in advanced mobile device management (MDM) announced that more than 40 major mobile device vendors have ensured that their devices can be seamlessly managed by the MFORMATION SERVICE MANAGER platform.

Vendors who are participating in the Mformation device programs include HTC, Huawei, LG, Motorola, Nokia, Palm, Samsung, Siemens (News - Alert), Sony Ericsson and ZTE.

Matt Bancroft, Vice President, Mformation said, “Over 100 million devices are managed by our MDM platform. As the number of device management capable devices in the market ramps up through 2009, we are implementing systematic processes with the leading device vendors to ensure that MFORMATION SERVICE MANAGER can seamlessly manage new devices as they come to market.”

He added, “Our Device Release and Self-Certification programs are critical to ensuring that new devices delivered to the market can be managed by our market-leading, standards-compliant MDM platform. This ensures that the devices and services in subscribers’ hands are always optimized and working correctly.”

The Mformation (News - Alert) platform offers support to most mobile device manufacturers besides operating systems which run on these devices. Mformation is also adding support for new services. Mformation is able to offer such a wide device support owing to its compliance with major device management standards like OMA-DM and OMA-CP.

Mformation offers two device-focused programs ensuring that operators can help support subscribers across several devices and OS platforms.

The Device Release Program is an Mformation-run program. It tests interoperability between new mobile devices and the MFORMATION SERVICE MANAGER platform based on main device management standards like OMA DM and OMA CP. This program includes various smartphones, data cards and embedded modems. Network types including GSM, WCDMA, HSDPA, EV-DO, CDMA2000 and WiMAX (News - Alert) are also covered.

The Device Self-Certification Program provides hosted access to Mformation platform to participating device vendor partners. This allows remote testing and self-certification of standards-based device management capabilities of their devices with the Mformation platform during the development stages itself before actual acceptance testing. This reduces time to market and the costs associated with development and testing.

Mformation Technologies’ MDM technology helps mobile operators increase revenues and reduce support costs. The MOBILE SERVICE MANAGER suite is an integrated mobile device management software solution which offers solutions for OMA DM-based provisioning and configuration, FOTA management, application management, diagnostics, security management, enterprise management and customer experience monitoring.
