Konftel Launches SIP-Based Conference Phone
By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor
Konftel, a European supplier of conference phones, has launched an SIP-based conference phone with several innovative functions. The new Konftel 300IP enables users to make local five-way calls and ring pre-programmed groups, as well as record and store calls on a memory card. Personal contacts and settings can be saved by creating user profiles.
Featuring Konftel’s patented OmniSound 2.0 sound technology, the Konftel 300IP provides crystal-clear sound with wideband. The new release will be available from mid December 2008 in countries Konftel are represented in.
Peter Renkel, CEO at Konftel refers to surveys that indicate an increase in the number of teleconferences in the future because of the time-saving, economic and environmental benefits they offer. In order to save money and be able to coordinate communication, a large number of organizations are replacing their switchboards with IP telephony and Renkel believes the Konftel 300IP will be of great interest for them.
Konftel’s new device can be connected to either an IP PBX (News - Alert) system or direct to a VoIP service provider. Based on SIP (RFC 3261), the Konftel 300IP is compatible with most of the market's SIP platforms. The Konftel 300IP also supports Power over Ethernet, which simplifies connection.
The company officials further describes the Konftel 300IP as a unique device that has a built-in call recording function on SD memory card and is the first IP conference phone on the market to offer the possibility of making local five-way calls. A conference guide included in the device enables the users to call pre-programmed groups with a few simple pushes of a button. Thanks to a Web-based configuration of contacts and settings, the telephone is easy to operate.
Businesses will find this device especially useful as the Konftel 300IP can be adapted for large meeting rooms. The future-proof telephone can also be upgraded with smart functions.
“We are very pleased to be able to broaden our product range with one of the market’s most advanced IP conference phones. Now we can offer a telephone that combines all the benefits of an IP telephone with our innovative functions,” stated Renkel.
