SafeNet and RADVISION Secure IP Voice and Video Communications
By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor
SafeNet ( News - Alert) and RADVISION will jointly secure and enable next-generation fixed and mobile IP communications. The resulting joint solution unites two historically separate technologies: IPsec security (a network level protocol) and SIP data management (an application level protocol) to save customers valuable time and development costs.
Sagi Subocki, products manager, Technology Business Unit, RADVISION said in a statement that SafeNet and RADVISION bring complementary skills to the table. He noted that SafeNet is a market leader in delivering best-in-breed IPsec security solutions to the industry’s leading telecom and networking OEMs and RADVISION is recognized at the industry’s leading provider of advanced software building blocks which support the development of standards-compliant products for emerging 3G and IP networks.
“This fit makes a compelling partnership, both for us and for our customers,” he added.
Thanks to the pre-integrated, IPsec-protected IMS signaling solution, device and equipment manufacturers within the telecom and networking industries have a complete set of tools for building next-generation mobile and fixed network capable applications including Voice and Video over IP (V2oIP), video share, multi-party gaming, video and audio conferencing, and content sharing.
The SIP Developer Suite from RADVISION is a powerful and highly versatile set of tools that can dramatically accelerate fixed and mobile network application development. Under the alliance, SafeNet’s IPsec security toolkits will be pre-integrated with RADVISION’s SIP Developer Suite, including a specific solution for IMS-enabled network applications.
The pre-integrated solution for the IMS-enabled networks is fully compliant with IETF, 3GPP, 3GPP2 and TISPAN standards.
Simon Blake-Wilson, managing director, Embedded Security Solutions, SafeNet explained that in the mobile industry specifically, the fast and affordable delivery of cutting-edge mobile applications including V2oIP are one of the few ways operators and service providers can differentiate themselves in a highly competitive environment.
“We are proud to partner with RADVISION to provide customers with a secure, fast, cost effective, and easy to integrate foundation for bringing these next-generation features and services to market,” he added.
SafeNet is a global provider of information security.
RADVISION is a provider of market-proven products and technologies for unified visual communications over IP, 3G and IMS networks.
