Enhance Technology Intros IP-Based D2D Storage Appliance for SMBs
By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor
Enhance Technology has expanded its portfolio of products geared toward the small to medium-sized business (SMB) market with EnhanceRAID R6, a 2U 6-disk based high-versatility rack storage system that delivers up to 6 terabytes of storage capacity, performance of up to 100 MB/sec throughput, and supports uncompressed video surveillance applications.
Aaron Eskridge, Enhance's director of channel sales, noted that customers running with mixed platform networks such as Windows and Mac now can leverage EnhanceRAID IP series’ incredible price performance and breakthrough technology.
Eskridge explained in a statement that the R6 IP-210 is a dual-port GbE iSCSI based system that SMBs can use for centralized storage manageability. This system has been the best-selling disk based backup appliance in the series and is widely used in D2D backup and security & surveillance applications.
The R6 is protected in RAID 5 configuration running six (6+) SATA II disks and drives data via dual high bandwidth GbE ports and supports for Windows and Mac-based computing environments. The architecture of EnhanceRAID delivers huge storage capacity, scalability, and versatility.
Enhance Technology further explains that the standard R6 IP-210 model comes six independent SATA II drive channels plus one additional NTFS based JBOD drive housed in an Enhance brand high-end rugged removable drive carrier for data transportation.
Because the advanced R6 XP2100 provides expandability to eight additional SATA II drives via the company’s patented SATALink bus , 2x350W redundant power supply for extra protection, and standard four (4x) high-speed & low-noise cooling fan modules for superior airflow within the unit, it makes R6 the total disk storage solution and a versatile D2D rackmount storage system.
The company has enriched the Web-based management and monitoring utility with new features, which has made administration even easier. Thanks to RAID Slicing, administrators can easily partition RAID sets into smaller segments allowing storage to be distributed on up to 16 servers. RAID Expansion has made adding hard drives a simple task with no downtime required. In addition, RAID Admin features enhanced testing and repair tools and a more intuitive user interface.
Enhance Technology emphasizes that the XP2100 of R6 is the most aggressively priced IP storage solutions on the market today with no additional license fee for each connected workstation. The solutions provide a smart and cost-effective choice for data availability and reliability within storage area networks.
Both the R6 IP-210 and XP2100 are immediately available through nation-wide distributor Bellmicro, online reseller CDW ( News - Alert) & ioStor, and system integrators worldwide.
Founded in 1997, Enhance Technology (enhance-tech.com) designs and manufactures high performance storage systems and products for the digital content creation, broadcasting, security surveillance, and IT market spaces. Earlier this month, the company signed a strategic partnership with the nationally acclaimed reseller PC Mall, Inc. to address the burgeoning demand for storage products within PC Mall’s business clienteles. Through this partnership, PC Mall is also extends the company’s storage product lines and sales by distributing Enhance Technology’s award-winning storage products.
