Plantronics Introduces New Military Grade Ruggedized Bluetooth Headset

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Plantronics (News - Alert) Inc. has introduced the Plantronics Explorer 370, a new Bluetooth headset tailored for the adventurer.

The Explorer 370, durability tested to meet military-grade specifications, is water, dust and shock resistant and features windscreen technology to ensure users experience clear calls no matter what the environment.

The Explorer 370 is certified to MIL-STD 810 standards issued by the United States Army's Developmental Test Command to prove that equipment qualified to the standard will survive in the field.

"Everyday life can be rough on electronics, so Plantronics developed a headset that can be tossed around, dropped repeatedly, worn in the rain and still work properly," Ron Vitale, category director for Mobile at Plantronics, Inc said in a press release.

"The Explorer 370 delivers a quality headset in a durable package that can withstand tough environments, including windy and dusty work conditions, rugged outdoor adventures or anything life throws at you."

The Explorer 370 that provides up to seven hours of talk time and up to eight days of standby time also features QuickPair technology to simplify headset-to-mobile phone pairing.

Plantronics has also introduced the Explorer 360, a lightweight, reliable and simple-to-use headset, which strives to fulfill the need for entry-level products for first-time users.

Plantronics QuickPair technology allows easy pairing. A universal Micro USB adaptor provides quick charging convenience for up to seven hours of talk time and eight days of standby time.

Plantronics, Inc. introduced the first lightweight communications headset in 1962 and is today one of the world's leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of lightweight communications headset products.

Plantronics headsets are widely used in many Fortune 500 corporations and have been featured in numerous films and high profile events, including the historic "One small step for man" transmission from the moon in 1969.

Plantronics offers mobile headsets to address the cordless and mobile phone market, next-generation computer audio headset products for computer applications and corded and cordless headsets and systems for the office, small office/home office and contact centers.
