DAX Systems Servers Now Rated Avaya Compliant

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

DAX Systems Inc., a provider of applications servers specifically engineered for the telephony market, has announced today that three of its key products have been rated as compliant with IP telephony solutions for small and mid-sized businesses from Avaya (News - Alert) Inc.

DAX Systems 2U, 4U and Tower Servers are designed to provide businesses with a cost-effective and highly reliable platform for IP telephony applications. The servers have been compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya IP Office, a secure, easy-to-use converged voice and data system for small and mid-sized businesses.

The DAX Systems servers are now rated compliant with Avaya IP Office Admin 4.0.10, Office User 4.0.20, VoiceMail PRO 4.0.18, Compact Call Center 5.0.43 and Conference Center 3.2.9 software applications, as well as with the Avaya IP Office 500, 412 and 406-V2 hardware platforms.

"Successfully completing compliance testing allows us to offer Avaya customers, independent software vendors and integrators new options for cost-effectively fielding IP telephony," said Ernie Kaminaris, CEO of DAX Systems Inc., in a Monday statement.

"We're able to offer scalable platforms they can easily incorporate into their operations -- engineered with the same bulletproof reliability they've come to expect from traditional telephony solutions."

DAX Systems is a member of the Avaya DevConnect (News - Alert) program. This program was created as an initiative to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology and extend the value of a company’s investment in its network.

A Gold member of DevConnect, DAX Systems is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab in Lincroft, N.J. Within the lab, a team of Avaya engineers develops a comprehensive test plan for each application in order to verify whether it is Avaya compliant.

This compatibility testing is designed to ensure businesses can confidently add best-in-class capabilities to their network without having to replace their existing infrastructure. Companies can also speed deployment of new applications and reduce both network complexity and implementation costs.

"Companies like DAX Systems are expanding the choices available to Avaya customers," said Eric Rossman, vice president, developer relations and technical alliances, Avaya, in Monday’s statement.

"With a broad selection of standards-based solutions that are compliance tested for interoperability, businesses can communications-enable their operations and make critical information readily available to both clients and employees."

The Avaya DevConnect program plays a significant role for those companies that are working to develop solutions that can improve the operations of a business, yet lack the infrastructure necessary to drive widespread adoption.

The DevConnect program not only attaches the Avaya brand to these products, it also enables for market entry and further penetration than these companies would be able to accomplish on their own. In doing so, Avaya helps them to grow and claim more of their respective markets.
