HCPT Goes Live with Convergys' Infinys Rating and Billing Solution

Convergys (News - Alert) Corporation has announced today that PT Hutchison CP Telecommunications (HCPT) has gone live with Convergys’ Infinys Rating and Billing Solution. HCPT is a subsidiary of Hutchison Telecom International Limited.
Infinys is integrated with HCPT’s intelligent network to provide real-time charging and balance management functions for all pre- and post-paid services. HCPT is positioned as offering innovative and affordable mobile communication services on the GSM network to the Indonesian market.
The Infinys solution from Convergys rates and bills for all of HCPT’s converged voice and data services to both pre- and post-paid subscribers. This includes next generation services based on IP, and bundles of voice and data with cross-products discounts. The complete implementation took less than one year.
"Convergys' billing and care solution is our core business application allowing us the ability to offer our customers competitive and creative product packages," said John Shen, Chief Technology Officer, HCPT, in a Monday statement.
"Having a single convergent platform for both our pre- and post-paid subscribers significantly improves our time to market with new services and our operational efficiency."
"This solution will assist us greatly in providing an accurate calculation on user communication cost and enabling HCPT to deliver on-time billing to its customers," said HCPT President Director Rajiv Sahwney, expressing the same opinion in Monday’s statement.
"Billing is one of the most crucial elements in this industry, both for the operator and the customer. Therefore, we need to be sure of the capability of the solution that is offered by the application provider. We are confident that Convergys is capable of meeting our needs."
"Infinys is unique in that it is a single, scalable, and real-time rating and billing engine able to support the widest array of converged voice and data service regardless of payment method," said Iain Hackett, Convergys Vice President, Asia Pacific Region, in Monday’s statement.
"With Infinys, HCPT can segment its subscribers by preferences and usage patterns rather than having it artificially imposed by payment choices."
Infinys is designed to be a highly scalable, convergent charging and settlement solution that supports existing and emerging services across multiple vertical markets. Convergys aims for differentiation by providing operators with options as to how they deliver the convergence of their pre- and post-paid subscriber bases by offering both Off-board and On-board approaches to charging.
As billing continues to be the only point of interaction for many customers, it is an essential point of customer service for a company. By turning to a company such as Convergys, HCPT is ensuring that it is taking the extra step for not only accurate billing, but to also deliver a satisfying experience for the customer to protect the base.
