AT&T Provides Unified Communications to Rack Room Shoes
By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributing Editor
AT&T ( News - Alert) announced it would provide VoIP services to Rack Room Shoes at the shoe retailer’s Charlotte, North Carolina headquarters. Hundreds of Rack Room Shoes stores already use AT&T services, and the new contract will offer unified communications capabilities with VoIP to further enhance communications capabilities between locations.
The new solution satisfies the objective of the management that it should be easily accessible. Managers can be contacted at office, at home, or anywhere anytime, through one phone number or one email, bridging the gap between employees and managers, which will lead to greater cooperation between various departments, business units, and customers.
Pappu Singh, manager of eCommerce and Network Services, said the traditional method of taking decisions took more time and the need of the hour was a faster way to communicate for seamless collaboration and unified communications.
“AT&T was able to provide the best engineering resources in the industry with local technicians to help us implement our system here in Charlotte and really developed a long-term solution for us,” he said.
The Unified communications offered by AT&T increases the efficiency and productivity of Rack Room Shoes stores. Besides making maintenance costs and service costs cheaper, the VoIP phone system can also be upgraded faster.
