Aastra and BroadSoft to Streamline VoIP Deployments
By Johanne Torres, TMCnet Contributing Editor
VoIP communication products and systems provider Aastra Telecom announced on Tuesday that it has joined forces with BroadSoft (News - Alert) to streamline VoIP deployments by service providers. Specifically, Aastra will join BroadSoft and a consortium of other customer premises equipment (CPE) to access equipment vendors and build systems that integrate equipment with hosted applications to ease the deployment of new services for providers.
"Customers are looking for high quality, well integrated hardware and software solutions that add the most value to their business communications process," said Aastra Telecom's (News - Alert) executive vice president of sales Yves Laliberte in a statement. "By partnering with leading providers of VoIP application software platforms, like BroadSoft, we can offer service providers and their valued customers additional flexibility and choice in the terminals they deploy with their hosted VoIP application solutions."
Aastra agreed to join BroadSoft's Premier Access Solutions program, which allows its partners to collaborate in product development, marketing, sales and support of the BroadWorks VoIP application platform, and jointly validate components with each new product release.
"Every access component is vital in the timely delivery of new hosted voice services. That's why we are proud to add Aastra and its SIP phones to our best-of-breed access solutions," stated Scott Hoffpauir, chief technology officer for BroadSoft. "Including Aastra phones as part of the pre-integrated solutions of the Premier Access Solutions program, service providers will be able to give end-users access to the BroadWorks VoIP platform features more quickly."
Via the new partnership, v2tel’s VoIP customers will be able to use BroadSoft’s desktop toolbar, which allows for control of corporate communications features and applications such as video telephony and conferencing.
