By Michelle Amodio, TMCnet Associate Editor
With a 20 percent annual growth, telecom company Inter-Tel ( News - Alert) was in need of expansion, particularly with its UK presence. Offering a better facility for customers and business, officials at Inter-Tel said that they are moving outwards into the British Midlands in the city of Northampton.
The telecommunications software and hardware manufacturer’s new facility focuses on the support of its reseller network in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
The British Midlands is the economic development agency for central England and includes major commercial centers of Nottingham and Birmingham. With 650,000 people employed in the telecommunications, financial and business services sector, the area offers world-class skilled labor and highly competitive operating costs and is just 90 minutes from London.
“The labor pool [in Northampton] is very good for what we do. It is easier to get to and that has helped in recruiting,” said Jeff Ford, Division President, Inter-Tel in a press statement.
Inter-Tel has a diverse UK customer base and achieved sales of over $442 million in 2005. (source: http://www.tmcnet.com/comsol/articles/3786-inter-tel-expands-telecom-business-british-midlands.htm)
