Nortel Completes Acquisition of Tasman Networks
Nortel today announced the completion of its Tasman Networks acquisition. In a press release, Nortel said it paid $99.5 million in cash for Tasman, a company which makes enterprise routers.
Negotiations for the acquisition were announced Dec. 27, and the initial agreement for a $99.5 million cash buyout appears to have gone pretty much as planned.
The acquisition is part of Nortel’s strategy to be a leading provider of enterprise IP telephony products and applications, the company said in a press release.
