eXpresso Announces Improvements to Excel Spreadsheet Solution

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

eXpresso Corporation, a provider of online community solutions for businesses, has announced improvements to its online collaborative Excel spreadsheet solution with complete support for Microsoft (News - Alert) Excel.

Thanks to the improvement, the users of Excel 2003, Excel 2007 and other versions will now be able to access all features and tools in their Excel application, as well as custom macros, styles, formatting and more, while working within the eXpresso online environment.

eXpresso, which was first released in 2007, a Software as a Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) application, allows businesspeople to upload, distribute and collaborate Excel files in real-time via the Internet.

“Today’s development is a direct result of the unparalleled success of eXpresso itself. As our online platform became more and more popular, it was clear we needed to find a way for users to access all of Excel,” said George Langan, chief executive officer of eXpresso.

Langan said that while it’s true that people typically use only about 80 percent of their Excel application’s capabilities, every person uses a different 80 percent. As of today, he said, there’s no more compromise - Excel support in its entirety is here.

eXpresso users can not only access their Excel spreadsheets from any PC with an Internet Explorer Web browser, but also authorize others to view or edit spreadsheets as needed.

Officials claimed that unlike Zoho, Google (News - Alert) Docs and IBM Symphony, eXpresso uniquely features the entire Excel interface and feature set and gives users the ability to share the same files with different people.

“Now people can access capabilities like conditional formatting, pivot tables, macros, charts, inserted images, and custom styles and colors. They can also link data across sheets in a file,” Langan said.
