Duke Energy Selects ARCOS Automated Crew Callout TechnologyBy Jai C.S., TMCnet Contributing Editor United States Electric power company, Duke Energy Corporation, has selected ARCOS Crew Callout Enterprise Edition (ARCOS) to automate and optimize its crew callout process and add efficiencies to the resource and real-time employee availability management.
ARCOS is an interactive voice response (IVR) consulting and custom application development company. Its flagship product is ARCOS Crew Callout — a Web-based communication and response platform that automates the complex crew callout process and enables instant notification of employees and customers.
“One of many benefits of ARCOS solution is that it is agile and easily configurable,” said Mitchell McLeod, president and CEO at ARCOS, in a statement. “This is an important consideration for many of our customers, including Duke, since the system can be designed to meet the diversified needs of various business units.”
This current agreement enables both the companies to work on the implementation of the highly configurable ARCOS solution as a dispatch, scheduling and resource management system for use by one of Duke's transmission units.
The system is planned to go live in September 2008 and will set the standard for gradual rollout of ARCOS to its distribution and gas operations.
Duke Energy Corporation’s Franchised Electric & Gas operations cover 47,000 square miles, delivering energy to approximately 4 million customers in North Carolina, South Carolina, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio.
