Talisma Intros Version 8.0 of CRM for Higher Education

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Talisma Corporation (News - Alert), a provider of multi-channel constituent relationship management (CRM) solutions announced that version 8.0 of its CRM for higher education is now available.

This newest version is designed to be the most robust solution available on the market. To ensure its dominance, the solution includes complete Application Management, a next generation User Interface, 2-way Text Messaging, Personalized Web Portals and an ADA compliant Web client.

"With the release of 8.0, Talisma Multi-channel CRM represents one of the most mature and comprehensive CRM solutions developed specifically for the higher education market," said Nicole Engelbert, Lead Analyst, Vertical Markets Technology, Datamonitor, in a Tuesday statement. "Talisma's continued investment in its solutions offers institutions valuable assurance that the solution will meet their needs today, tomorrow and far out into the future."

Talisma is positioned as the first and only vendor to organically develop a fully integrate Application Management module that will allow for creating, submitting and managing online student applications in their CRM.

The new solution includes all the features of a stand-alone solution and is included within the CRM so there is no need to port data or integrate between systems. It also eliminates the need to incur the cost for a third party solution.

Integration of the solution also allows for personalized text messages to be sent one at a time or in bulk. Users can initiate a new message or reply back to messages with their phone or PDA. All interactions are then stored and associated to the respective contact record within the Talisma CRM.

"Talisma has once again stepped up to the plate with its new sleek and enhanced look. Instant satisfaction to the eyes leads straight into the awesome power this new Web client provides our recruiters. The ability to proactively, quickly and efficiently look up key data elements on the road will give our recruiters an added edge," said Nick Austin, Assistant Director, Admissions & Technology, Kansas State University, in Tuesday’s statement.

Version 8.0 also offers the key capability to create personalized Web portals. Users can customize the content, look and feel of the portal. Based on the preferences selected, institutions can push targeted communications catering to the constituent's interests.

Talisma Multi-Channel CRM 8.0 provides a next generation Windows client user interface to deliver a completely new look and feel. It features three-dimensional icons, color schemes that mimic those in the user’s operating system to increase usability and provide a better experience.

Beyond these new features, the version 8.0 of the solution offers enhanced Event Management with support for multiple tracks, group registrations, advanced discount options, transfer, substitute and more to strengthen the offering. The new solution also delivers enhanced reports, campaigns, data security and usability.

"Application Management and an ADA compliant client add to what was already the most comprehensive offering in the higher education market. Talisma Multi-Channel CRM 8.0 is a complete set of communication tools, workflows and workspaces for Strategic Enrolment Management, Student Services, Advancement, IT Helpdesk, Education Finance and other departments across the institution," said Craig Stanford, Vice President of Talisma Higher Education, in the Tuesday statement.

Stanford continued: "The net result is a 360 degree view of every constituent and their interaction history from recruitment through alumni programs, which dramatically increases communication effectiveness, constituent response rates and staff-member productivity while simultaneously reducing marketing, service and fulfillment costs by up to 50 percent."

To ensure swift acceptance and adoption of its new solution within the higher education sector, Talisma has touched on and integrated key applications and features within the 8.0 version of its CRM for higher education.

As the educational sector must take a more personalized and proactive approach to its customer base, the demand for a robust CRM solution is high. Talisma understands the challenges within the industry and developed a solution that would meet this demand and deliver the results that educational institutions desire.
