New Datamonitor Report ''Decision Matrix: Selecting a CRM Vendor in the Pharmaceutical Industry'' Suggests Rapidly Growing Trend towards On-Demand CRM Applications

PLEASANTON, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Datamonitor, the world's leading provider of online data, analytic and forecasting platforms for key vertical sectors, asked 300 users of customer relationship management (CRM) technology in pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies across North America and Western Europe to rate CRM vendors in five areas: product quality, customer support, service capabilities, vertical specialization, portfolio depth, and service levels. Survey responses along with Datamonitor market research suggest an industry trend towards the onDemand delivery model. Namely, end users of such products are more satisfied with customer support and services provided by SaaS vendors rather than by traditional vendors.

The report states that, "onDemand CRM vendors are making a lasting impact on the pharmaceutical CRM market. As such, Verticals onDemand is likely to play an important role in the new competitive landscape, offering an innovative product that seems to meet the industry's need like a glove."

Verticals onDemand, the pharmaceutical industry's only provider of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) CRM solutions, is built on the Salesforce.com platform to deliver all the advantages of SaaS, including low cost of ownership, tremendous flexibility, easy upgrades, and customized functionality. Verticals onDemand's VBioPharma(TM) CRM application is available in four editions to meet the specific needs of various pharmaceutical sales teams - managed markets, specialty care, primary care, and KOL managers.

"Biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies looking to invest in on-demand CRM products should explore Verticals onDemand for its innovative technology, flexibility, and usability," cites the Datamonitor report, which also evaluated offerings from Cegedim Dendrite, Oracle, Salesforce.com, and StayinFront. "Verticals onDemand's application receives the highest score for its usability and flexibility of its end-user interface. With drag-and-drop functionality as well as user-specific language, features and options, the Verticals onDemand CRM product is a stout competitor in the technology areas of configurability and end-user interface."

The report concludes, "VBioPharma delivers industry specificity flexibility, ease of use, as well as a significantly lower cost of ownership compared to the other vendors."
