China Telecom's Largest Subsidiary Tabs StreamServe to Deliver Invoices to 10 Million Subscribers; Guangzhou Telecom Will Use StreamServe EDP Software to Streamline and Secure the Production of Invoices and Improve Customer Service
BURLINGTON, Mass. --(Business Wire)-- April 25, 2006 -- StreamServe(R) Inc., the global leader in Enterprise Document Presentment (EDP) software, today announced that Guangzhou Telecom, the largest and fastest-growing subsidiary of China Telecom, uses StreamServe Enterprise Document Presentment(TM) software to deliver invoices to nearly 10 million subscribers in Guangdong Province. The sale was made through StreamServe's Chinese distributor, Carnation Software, Ltd.
Guangzhou Telecom uses StreamServe EDP software to streamline and secure the generation of invoices, improve customer service and reduce operational costs.
StreamServe enhances customer service by providing easy access to an electronic archive of an exact copy of a customer invoice. When a customer calls with a question about an invoice, the customer representative can refer to a copy, enabling them to resolve billing issues much faster.
Prior to adopting StreamServe EDP, Guangzhou Telecom printed invoices by transforming an enormous amount of data into print stream files, which resulted in insecure, unencrypted data, non-standard modification operations and high costs.
"StreamServe EDP is the only solution with the scalability, flexibility and power to help major enterprises offer millions of customers personalized communications," said Key Kwok, CEO of Carnation Software.
"We expect to grow quickly in China as more companies in telecom, financial services, manufacturing, utilities and retail recognize the benefits of EDP," said Chris Stone, president and CEO of StreamServe."
China Telecom Corporation Limited is the leading provider of wire line telecommunications services in China, with a subscriber base exceeding 200 million. China Telecom provides voice, data, image, multimedia and telecommunications and information services in 31 municipalities, provinces and autonomous regions across China.
Guangzhou Telecom manages one of the three biggest telecommunication network centers in China, and the largest in southern China.
