XCast Labs Releases Newest Version of Digital Voice & Video Platform

By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributing Editor

XCast Labs, a provider of software-as-a-service (SaaS (News - Alert)) digital voice and video solutions, has introduced version 3.0 of its Digital Voice & Video (DV&V) platform, a suite of fully-hosted business and consumer communications products and services.

The newest version features enhanced caller ID, 3-way calling, call waiting, do-not-disturb, call forwarding, and call blocking; local number portability, E911 and CALEA compliance as well as an online Voice Control Panel (VCP) for end-user account management.

In addition, some of the other features and functionalities include integrated unified communications (UC), such as find me/follow-me, voicemail, video mail and faxes delivered to email; voicemail alerts via short message service SMS; voicemail via RSS fee.

Additionally, the offering comes with online integrated back office (IBO) for all order entry, provisioning, reporting and customer support; plug-and-play videophone and compatible video softphone (VSP); toll-free and IP-Fax services; session initiation protocol (SIP) trunking for business customers with up to 5,000 lines.

Officials said that the full featured IP-PBX (News - Alert) includes supervised and blind call transfer, call park/pickup, intercom, hunt groups, automatic call distribution (ACD), unlimited secure conference bridges, Web-based attendant console.

In comparison to other voice-over-Internet protocol (VoIP) providers that are struggling to stay afloat, XCast Labs “stands alone” in regard to its financial stability, service quality, support, functionality and cost, said Cliff Rees, co-founder and CEO of XCast Labs

“What makes XCast unique, is that our engineering team's extensive experience in both IP and traditional telecom has empowered us to develop a patented technology that delivers a wide variety of fully integrated and scalable services at a lower cost,” said Rees.

The company has designed and developed every aspect of the core technology in-house which can be used for first-line replacement service for residential and small office customers, and also for the most feature-rich IP-private branch exchange (PBX) and session initiation protocol (SIP) trunking services for SMBs, said Rees.

Earlier this week, the company announced that 3VoIP.net would use XCast’s Hosted Digital Voice & Video (DV&V) platform and provide service to its residential and business customers.
