HP's New Digital Media Solutions Streamline Digital Media Workflow

HP, a leading technology company, introduced a new set of digital media offerings – HP Media Control solution family and HP Media Workflow Master – which enable communications providers and media businesses to streamline operations in the overall digital media workflow.

 

HP Media Control solutions provide “cost-effective scheduling, monitoring and archiving of digital content,” officials said. HP Media Workflow Master, an integration technology, complements HP Media Control by streamlining digital media workflow process.

 

HP Media Control solution family consists of HP Control Room and HP Traffic Control. HP Control Room provides real-time monitoring and archiving of multiple audio and video feeds, and HP Traffic Control unifies the scheduling of content distribution over multiple user platforms.

 

HP Media Workflow Master provides a modular environment for media businesses to integrate multiple operations throughout the organization. Existing tools can be used, or new ones can be integrated with this service.

 

HP Media Workflow Master also shortens the time to revenue for digital assets by enabling the efficient repurposing of content over any network in any format for any consumer device, HP said.

 

The two digital media solutions help telecom service providers, new media companies, broadcasters, studios and post-production facilities reduce cost as they manage multiple distribution channels and rapidly growing volumes of digital content, HP said. This would enable them to deliver digital content to market more quickly and efficiently.

HP officials say that both HP Media Control solutions and HP Media Workflow Master enhance HP Media Storage solution, which enables fast and efficient storing, archiving and handling of large video files.

 

Telecom Italia Media Broadcasting (TIMB), a leading Italian network broadcaster operator, has selected HP Control Room solution to streamline its video operations. With HP Control Room, TIMB is able to monitor the entire network, including all broadcast video feeds, officials said.

 

“TIMB has realized greater efficiencies by monitoring and archiving the entire network with the HP Control Room solution,” said Crescenzo Micheli, chief technology officer, Telecom Italia (News - Alert) Media Broadcasting, in a statement. “With its open architecture, the HP solution gives us the flexibility to adapt our operations and even our business models.”

 

HP Control Room integrates traditional video probes used by TIMB to enhance audio and video monitoring. With HP StorageWorks Enterprise Virtual Array (EVA), it also helps TIMB archive multiple video feeds– with easy viewing and retrieval via a Web-based system.
