Vonage (
News -
Alert) has launched a new service called V-Access which promises more savings not only for the provider’s subscribers, but for the people who call them too.
With V-Access, Vonage offers subscribers an access number to make calls to any other Vonage phone number, or an 800-number, without incurring any long distance or international charges. The new service enables callers to place calls to any Vonage number, or an 800-number, for the price of a local call without having a Vonage number. The feature is available to anyone.
The international country availability of the new service seems to be a great choice for college students wanting to save some dough while away from home; or execs while on the road on business. V-Access is currently available in the United States, Canada, France, Italy, Mexico, Spain, and the UK.
“We wanted to make sure that every Vonage customer and their loved ones can enjoy the savings of Vonage wherever they go,” said Vonage’s CEO Mike Snyder in a statement. “Once again, we are proving that Vonage goes above and beyond the traditional phone carriers by offering our customers and their families another great, inexpensive way to stay in touch while on overseas business trips, study abroad programs or just vacation.”
Vonage subscribers, and other callers interested in viewing V-Access’ availability can go
online and search for the service’s access numbers that will enable them to avoid long distance and international calling charges.
To make a call with a V-Access number, users have to find and dial the local access number; follow by dialing the Vonage phone number or 800-number; and finally have the call connected without incurring long distance or international charges.
