CallWave Intros Free Visual Voicemail for Mobile Phones
By Johanne Torres, TMCnet Contributing Editor
If you ever wanted to see, sort, listen and respond to mobile phone messages right from your e-mail inbox, you are in luck. CallWave (News - Alert) just released a pretty neat free program that lets you do all of this right from your computer without even having to touch your phone.
The new service, CallWave Mobile, sends a "copy" of all mobile phone voicemail messages to your e-mail, enabling you to sort and prioritize, listen and respond to your messages all from your e-mail inbox.
With CallWave Mobile with visual voicemail, you can manage your mobile phone voicemail messages when and how you want, without having to download software, switch service providers, purchase a new handset or even change your mobile phone number.
The program lets you prioritize messages from your e-mail, as the caller name and message lengths appear in the text e-mail subject line. Messages may be listened to in any order, simply by opening an e-mail, and can then be paused, replayed, saved, deleted or replied to the caller, via text or callback—all from your PC. CallWave Mobile also creates a PC-based calling contact list automatically. When not at the PC, the program sends you a mobile voicemail message via SMS to your handset.
"CallWave's visual voicemail leverages the power of the PC to manage tasks that are difficult to do on a mobile phone's small interface and makes them easier to do on the desktop," commented CallWave's CEO David Hofstatter in a statement. "Individuals and businesses can more easily access and manage their voicemail and interact with their calling communities in ways never before thought possible."
CallWave is currently available for cellular service provided by mobile carriers including TMobile, Cingular (News - Alert) and Verizon.
You can signup free for CallWave Mobile online.
