Performance Technologies Intros PICMG
2.16-Compatible Serial Controller
Performance Technologies introduced the
latest edition to its IPnexus product family. The PICMG 2.16-based CPC358
Serial I/O Communications Controller provides equipment developers and
system integrators with a high performance platform for use in
communications, military and commercial server-blade applications.
The IPnexus CPC358 is an intelligent, eight-channel synchronous serial
I/O communications system-on-a-card for CompactPCI and PICMG 2.16 chassis.
It supports NexusWare(tm), Performance Technologies' comprehensive
Linux-based operating and development environment intended for system
engineers building packet-based platforms for next-gen communication,
control, and enterprise systems. In addition to NexusWare, the CPC358 is
also supported by Performance Technologies' broad range of WAN protocols,
including HDLC, Frame Relay, x.25, Radar Receiver and Synchronous Bit
Stream. Operating system support is provided for Linux, Solaris and
Windows 2000.
"The CPC358 provides developers with a serial I/O controller and
integrated communications protocols for either a PICMG 2.16 or standard
CompactPCI environment," said Hank Heneghan, director of product
management for Performance Technologies. "We are the only vendor
offering a stand-alone 2.16 serial controller. Along with our T1/T3 cards,
SBCs, embedded Ethernet switches and chassis, Performance Technologies now
has the industry's most complete 2.16 product offering."
