InGrid announced the expansion of its digital wireless home security product suite.

The new products and services that will be offered include: siren detectors, cellular backup capabilities, cameras, temperature sensors, flood detectors and access to InGrid system’s from any Internet-enabled mobile phone as well.

InGrid is a provider of digital home security services for apartments, homes and small businesses in the U.S. The company offers burglary, fire, and medical response via five diamond monitoring centers. The company also offers remote control and monitoring via any cell phone or Web browser and local control via a cordless telephone, console, or two-way keychain remote.

InGrid Home Security is said to be the first all-digital, wireless home security system. The system has enhanced functionality and capabilities of home security with more features, better control, and improved home protection, in an easy-to-install and simple to manage package, said the company.

"Our new products further demonstrate our commitment to the reinvention of home security for how people really live,” said Louis Stilp, InGrid CEO, in the statement.

Stilp added, “We are committed to delivering our customers the most sophisticated, simple and affordable home security technology innovations. We‘re excited about enhancing our current digital security offerings, with new features and capabilities, that make it easier for consumers to better protect themselves.”

InGrid Wireless Home Security system’s ‘Siren Detector’ facilitates consumers to easily and economically connect to their existing smoke and fire detectors’ sirens to professional monitoring. The company’s Siren Sensor can be easily fixed next to any of the home’s existing networked smoke detectors. When the existing smoke detectors alarm activates, the Siren Detector recognizes the sound, sends a signal to the InGrid system, which in turn send an alarm signal to the professional monitoring center. The Siren Detector also features monitoring of carbon monoxide detectors.

InGrid’s ‘Cellular Gateway’ (News - Alert) offers cellular back up for sending alarms to central monitoring and event notifications. The Cellular Gateway makes use of existing GSM/GPRS cellular infrastructure, in order to provide an additional redundant connection to the professional monitoring center. Additional monthly service charges are applicable for this service.

InGrid’s ‘HomeView Camera’ facilitates consumers to keep a watch on their homes from any Internet connection easily through My InGrid. The system is easy-to-install with IP cameras that can take and store snapshots and video clips in real-time as well. With the help of My InGrid, consumers can set up specific events to trigger recordings. The system supports up to four cameras. Additional monthly service charges are applicable for live video viewing and customer triggers.

InGrid’s ‘Temperature Sensor & Flood Detector’ allows a consumer to monitor environmental conditions such as presence of water and unsafe temperatures to avoid potential costly flooding or malfunctioning heating/cooling equipment.

InGrid’s ‘Mobile My InGrid’ facilitates consumers to access their InGrid system from any Internet enabled mobile phone.

InGrid’s products are said to offer economical and enhanced security when compared to analog security systems - with an array of sensors, controllers, and communications options including broadband Internet and cellular.

Consumers can buy InGrid Home Security products directly from InGrid’s Web site or from Crutchfield, Amazon, and cable companies such as RCN (News - Alert), Blue Ridge, Armstrong, and Cox Communications.
