GammaLink Multiport Fax Boards
GammaLink, a division of Dialogic Corporation, announced it has expanded its family of multiline computer-based fax boards. The Cpi/200, Xpi/200, and CP-4/LSI Series 2 fax boards are designed to provide businesses worldwide with reliable fax platforms supported by all leading network fax applications. They are designed to enable network fax administrators and application developers to create dependable and scalable multichannel fax applications that address low, medium, and high fax traffic environments.

With support for up to 30 fax channels in a single chassis, the full-featured multiport Cpi/200 is tailored for low-to-medium fax traffic applications, and is designed to provide system scalability to easily accommodate growing fax traffic. The Xpi/200 is a two-port computer-based fax board designed for price sensitive customers or for customers with high inbound fax traffic requirements. The XPi/200 also incorporates two 20 Mhz on-board microprocessors and 14.4 Kbs fax transmission with configuration flexibility that makes it compatible with GammaLink's full suite of advanced and intelligent fax boards.

The CP4/LSI Series 2 is a loop start interface (LSI), four-port version of the Cpi/100. It is designed for medium-to-high fax traffic on large and medium-sized LANs. This board features 14.4 Kbps modems, error correction mode, advanced MR and MMR data compression and binary file transfer.

GammaLink has also announced that nine leading fax application software developers have pledged to develop local area network (LAN) fax server and fax-on-demand applications around the newly unveiled Gamma-Link Developers Kit (GDK) version 2.0 for Microsoft Windows NT. The new GammaLink Windows NT GDK provides NT application developers with the software tools needed to employ GammaLink's complete suite of fax boards in their NT-based fax applications. JABRA Announces CT Solution
ABRA Ear Phone, has introduced a complete bundled solution called JABRA-NETTM that turns a computer into a complete, comfortable, hands-free telephone. JABRA bundled PC Phone by Dallas, Texas-based AlgoRhythms, Inc., and Internet Phone by New Jersey-based VocalTec. Lucent Developer's Kit For PassageWayTM
Lucent Technologies, formerly AT&T's systems and technologies business, has announced shipment of a developer's kit for its PassageWayTM Telephony Services for Microsoft Windows NT. PassageWay already provides customers a common, open platform for building sophisticated, cost-effective computer telephony solutions for Microsoft Windows, IBM Os/2, Unix and Macintosh computers. NetSpeak Introduces WebPhone
NetSpeak Corporation has introduced WebPhone 1.0, the first in a series of WebPhone products. WebPhone 1.0 is a Windows-based computer phone application designed to enable real-time, full-duplex, high-quality voice conversations over the computer network via e-mail addresses without the use of Internet Relay Chat connectivity. Features include voice mail, call blocking, speed dial, call holding/muting, conversation encryption, and a helper application that launches WebPhone and dials an individual from any home page automatically. The interface resembles a regular portable or cellular phone, complete with key pad buttons and speed dial buttons. Precision Systems Platform
Precision Systems, Inc. has announced the release of UniPortTM Release 7.0, the latest version of the company's software solution for enhanced communications services. Pure Data Fax Broadcasting System
Pure Data Ltd. has introduced SatisFAXtionr Broadcast Fax, a comprehensive fax broadcasting system developed for users who need dependable, high-volume fax broadcasting. The solution is designed specifically to handle fax broadcasting requirements from a few hundred to tens of thousands of destinations. SatisFAXtion's single-line Gold version can broadcast over 120 pages per hour, while the four-line Platinum version handles over 500 pages per hour. VoiceView Adds DSVD Mode
Radish Communications Systems, Inc. has announced the availability of a DSVD (digital simultaneous voice/data) data mode under the VoiceView protocol. VoiceView enables users to select from a variety of data modes during an ordinary phone call. With VoiceView/ DSVD, Radish is adding access to simultaneous voice and data services as one of the selectable data modes. This expands the options available to developers of integrated voice/data applications by making the capabilities of both alternating and simultaneous voice and data available under the VoiceView standard. Nortel Enhances Product Lines
Northern Telecom has announced Microsoft TAPI and Novell TSAPI capabilities for its Norstar-PLUS Integrated Communications Systems. This enhancement is designed to provide automated call distribution, desktop video conferencing, and PC-based telephony control to Norstar digital key users. Developers can now offer their TAPI- and TSAPI-based applications to users of Norstar, a digital key telephone system designed specifically for small businesses and departments in larger enterprises. Nortel has also announced the release of Norstar COMPANION, a wireless key system; VISIT Voice, screen- based telephone control software; and VISIT Video, for desktop video conferencing. Wildfire Electronic Assistant Features Upgrade
Wildfire Communications, Inc. has announced a significant upgrade to the Wildfire Electronic Assistant, a service available through nationwide service providers that coordinates all of a professional's daily telephone communications. The new Version 1.3 now offers on-the-fly telephone conferencing from any phone, anywhere. It also includes a new reception feature designed to meet the communications needs of small businesses. New Modules For AAC Corp.'s CornerStone
AAC Corporation's Account-A-Call division has announced two new modules for its CornerStoneSM suite of telecommunications management products, Focal PointTM and T- MailTM. AltiGen CT Platform Products
AltiGen Communications, Inc. has announced the release of AltiServTM and Quantum computer- telephony platform products. The Quantum board-level product targets companies requiring fewer than 25 telephones. AMTELCO SCSA/MVIP Single-Board Interface
AMTELCO has announced the release of the XDS Interface bridge; XDS Transmitter Interface board; and XDS High Density "Smart" Analog Port boards. The XDS Interface bridge connects SCSA boards to MVIP boards in a single chassis without the need for special drivers and elaborate software. The board can operate in static mode, which requires no software or drivers, or dynamic mode, which allows the application to control port mapping. Analogic Doubles Telephone Channel Capacity
Analogic Corporation has announced the doubling of telephone channel capacity to 64 channels on its TAP-800 DSP Resource Boards to provide up to 360 MFLOPS of computational performance and support of multiple applications on a single board. Utilizing Analogic's TDMRouterTM chip and Resource Manager Software, Analogic believes the TAP-800 board is the only DSP resource board in the marketplace that supports both MVIP and SCSA buses. Aspect Telecommunications has released Aspect CallCenterr Release 6. Enhancements include a single- switch solution for inbound and outbound call operations, powerful new CTI capabilities, expanded interoperability, and enhanced remote monitoring and management. BATS Introduces NetChargerTM
BATS, Inc. has announced the final release of its NetChargerTM product, designed to allow Internet merchants to accept orders for products to be subsequently charged to an existing credit card. To address the inherent insecurity of using credit cards across the Internet, BATS developed an interactive voice response (IVR) system and linked it to an Internet Web server. Harris Introduces Harris PrepaidTM
Harris Corporation's Digital Telephone Systems Division has announced the introduction of Harris PrepaidTM, a high-capacity, high-performance debit calling card platform. Harris Prepaid uses a flexible client/server architecture that can support up to 100 million PIN numbers and 40,000 calls per hour. Multilingual Text-To-Speech Software
Berkeley Speech Technologies, Inc. has announced that BeSTspeechr/2, its multilingual, text-to-speech (T-T-S) software, is now available for IBM's DirectTalk/2. BeSTspeech is designed to read computerized text information out loud or over the telephone, creating automatic synthetic speech on demand from on- line computers. T-T-S does not replace recorded human voice in an application. Cortelco Introduces Platform And Phone System
Cortelco has announced the introduction of its newest family of products, the Digital Services Platform (DSP). The DSP is designed to allow an open architecture building block using an "Erector Set" philosophy to customize CTI call center solutions. The DSP can be configured with a variety of software packages to fit environments such as stand-alone or interlinked E-911, ACD/PBX, ACD, call centers, small central office, residential multitenant or networked systems. Internal PC Phone Card Interface
Dash, Inc., manufacturer of the Dash Open Phone System, a 16- to 128-port PC-based PBX, has announced the release of the Dash OPS PCCL - PC Communicator Lite card. The PCCL card can be used with three of the Open Phone System's CTI station options, OPS Attendant, OPS Call and OPS Call II. Dash's PCCL card is a multiline telephone complete with headset and Dash communications interface that is installed inside of the desktop PC. The PCCL uses an internal connector to allow it to interface to an existing PC serial port. Dianatel Announces ULTRA PLATFORMTM
Dianatel Corporation has announced the release of ULTRA PLATFORMTM, an ultra-high-density, T1/ISDN primary rate interface platform designed to support a wide variety of computer-telephony applications. It is an open architecture, PC-based platform that addresses applications currently being served by expensive proprietary voice, image, data, and video processing systems. Excel, Inc. has announced the release of its Communications Service Node (CSN), a 1,024-port nonblocking programmable switch designed to offer easy connectivity to voice resources in a compact design. Force Computers, Inc., has announced the release of three integrated VME (VersaModule-Europe)-based systems designed for network equipment-building standards as well as for rugged environments. The megaforce system is designed to provide telecom developers early access to UltraSPARC, the latest processor technology on VME. Aurora Products/ Partnerships
Aurora Systems, Inc. has announced that it will be acquired by and become a wholly owned subsidiary of Comdial Corporation. Aurora and Lotus Development Corporation, developers of FastCallr computer- telephony software, have announced a partnership to produce CTI "groupware" solutions. FastCall is designed to allow users to quickly and cost-effectively "telephony enable" any existing Windows application, and works in both desktop and LAN environments. It can be easily integrated into products such as Lotus Notes, without the worry of development time and costs. Aurora has also announced the availability of FastCall on Lucent Technologies' PartnerTM communication system. In another agreement, Aurora has partnered with NEC America, Inc. to package and offer FastCall with NEC's NEAXr voice platforms. Aurora also has announced an agreement with Opis Corporation, a help desk software developer, that allows Opis to bundle FastCall with its SupportExpress help desk software. Brooktrout Acquires Technically Speaking
Brooktrout Technology, Inc., a provider of fax and voice messaging products for telecommunications and networking environments worldwide, has announced definitive plans to acquire Technically Speaking, Inc., developers of Show N TelTM, an application development tool for enterprise computer-telephony applications. The merger expands Brooktrout's position as a supplier to OEMs and system integrators developing electronic messaging applications, particularly computer-telephony and unified messaging systems. With the addition of Technically Speaking's product line, Brooktrout wil expand its offering of products that reduce the time-to-market and cost of developing innovative, high performance electronic messaging systems and services. The transaction, valued at approximately $12 million, is expected to be a tax-free reorganization, accounted for as a pooling of interests. Computer Communications Specialists and Commetrex Partnership
Computer Communications Specialists, Inc. (CCS) and Commetrex Corporation have announced they will jointly incorporate Commetrex's MultiFaxTM Group 3 fax and PowerCIDTM caller ID firmware into CCS's FirstLineTM product. The MultiFax software is designed to eliminate the need for a fixed-function fax board, and the fax modems will use the DSPs now performing voice processing functions on the CCS platform. Excel Partnerships
Excel, Inc. has announced partnerships with Open Development Corporation and Digital Technologies, Inc. Excel and Open Development have established a strategic relationship following Open Development's selection of Excel's LNX and PCS switching systems into their openMEDIATM Enhanced Services Platform. The openMEDIA Prepaid solution is designed to address the requirements of service providers who need to support high volumes, large databases, and high reliability. The agreement with Digital Technologies enables Digital Technologies to resell Excel programmable switches as part of their Magnum 3000 System. This follows Digital's acceptance into the Excel Partner Program, which establishes both a technical and marketing infrastructure that allows Excel and its partners to focus on strategic product offerings and marketing programs. InterVoice Partnerships
InterVoice, Inc. has announced agreements with Appintec Corp. and Marketing Information Systems, Inc. (MIS). InterVoice and Appintec have agreed to cooperate in developing, marketing, and selling call center solutions. The new business partner agreement allows InterVoice's predictive dialing system, InterDialTM, to interface with Appintec's ActionWare400r enterprise contact management software and integration services to provide enhanced dialing features for the call center market. MIS has agreed to to develop an interface to InterDialTM, which will be designed to enable InterDial to support MIS's MSMTM - Marketing and Sales Management line of business-to-business software solutions. Nabnasset Parnerships
Nabnasset Corporation has announced partnerships with NCR and Voicetekr to link its VESPTM (Voice Enhanced Services Platform) CTI software with their call center and mixed media applications, respectively. VESP is call center management software that integrates computers with telephones and voice with data and manages workflow across PBX switches and ACDs. NCR chose VESP to be a key to its Call Center Solutions Program. Voicetek will link VESP to Generationsr, its voice processing solution. Pure Data/EMJ Distribution Agreement
Pure Data Ltd. has announced the signing of a strategic international distribution agreement with EMJ Data Systems Ltd., a leading Canadian distributor. Rhetorex, Inc. and Comdial Corporation have announced the signing of a multimillion-dollar OEM agreement that calls for Rhetorex to provide custom voice-processing boards for use in Comdial's digital switch family. Rhetorex, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Octel Communications Corporation, manufactures hardware and software components that connect PCs and LANs with telephone networks. Scopus/Northern Telecom Alliance
Scopus Technology and Northern Telecom (Nortel) have announced an agreement under which the Scopus family of software solutions will be fully integrated with Nortel's Meridian 1 business communication systems for more effective sales operations and support management. Northern Telecom will both resell and support the integrated system. The Scopus software will enable Meridian 1 system users to automate many of their procedures for capturing and managing product and customer data. Sierra Semiconductor/ DSP Partnership
Sierra Semiconductor Corporation, a provider of advanced multimedia modems, and DSP Group, Inc., a developer of digital signal processors and digital speech products, have announced the signing of an agreement under which Sierra will license TrueSpeechr, DSP's speech compression software. Teloquent Announces Partnerships
Teloquent Communications Corp., a developer of network-based call center solutions, has announced plans to work with Bell Atlantic to develop a video call center application and interactive video applications. Designed to give remote service centers the ability to handle hundreds of "video calls" from customers quickly, the new application will provide multimedia and compressed video in real-time via ISDN to off-site kiosks - changing the way companies interact with their customers.

Teloquent and Periphonics Corporation have announced that they have formed a co-marketing alliance to promote and deliver the combined capabilities of Periphonic's integrated voice response (IVR) technology and Teloquent's call center solution. Through the alliance Periphonics will recommend Teloquent's Distributed Call Center to customers seeking a comphrehensive call center solution to complement their IVR. Teloquent will recommend Periphonic's IVR technology to customers interested in the value-added capabilities of IVR within a call center environment.

Teloquent and Executone Information Systems, Inc. have announced a distribution and development agreement for distributed call center products and technology. The agreement leverages Teloquent's expertise in distributed call center technology and intelligent networks, and Executone's distribution strength and experience in the delivery of complete call center solutions. According to the agreement, Executone will distribute Teloquent's Distributed Call Center product in the United States. The two companies will also begin development on the integration of Teloquent's Distributed Call Center application with Executone's Integrated Digital Telephone System.
