Southfield, MI-based MobiMogul, Inc., a mobile phone advertising network, is all set to introduce the first advertisement ringback dubbed AdTones in 2008, which offers customers an opportunity to earn a percentage of the ad revenue dollars each time the advertisement is heard.
According to Mobimogul officials, AdTones provides short 10 to 20 second audible tones of consumer products and service offerings. Also, MobiMogul subscribers and mobile service providers can earn a share of the ad revenues from the advertisements.
MobiMogul's AdTones enables advertisers to place ads on MobiMogul’s network in turn providing consumers to place advertisments on their cell phone as a ringback replacing the familiar standard ringtone.
Through, AdTones a subscriber can define the type of ad that callers trying to call them will hear. Also, the association of AdTones can be done by the time of the day, a special day, individual caller identification, or through a subscriber-defined group.
And, as AdTones capabilities reside on the ad network they can be heard on any kind of phone — wireless or landline.
Officials pointed out that AdTones are attractive to both mobile service providers and consumers because they both share in the revenues generated from advertisements.
MobiMogul, officials stated, offers a unique way for advertisers to take their recorded audible ads and offer them to consumers to help promote their products or services through the company’s customized ad ringback tones.
Officials noted in a statement that there are three situations currently taking place in regards to mobile advertising, which are: advertisers want a better way to communicate with their potential customers; service providers want to increase subscriber loyalty, revenue, and market share; and mobile users want a way to decrease their bills as well as earn some extra cash.
The solution for all the three situations, officials claimed is “AdTones which creates a win-win-win solution for all parties involved.”
Gartner (
