BRS Media's Web-Radio, a leading portal for "tuning in" Radio on the Internet, has reported that a record number of Holiday stations are webcasting online this year. There are approximately 100 Internet only stations and more than 400 terrestrial AM/FM radio stations offering seasonal music broadcasts this year. People can add more fun to their holiday experience by tuning in to online webcasts and sites that broadcast Christmas music from all parts of the world.
BRS Media is a member of the National Association of Broadcasters, the International Webcasting Association and the Webcaster Alliance. The company enables traditional and interactive media companies to build their capability on the web.
"It's extremely exciting to see the growth in the number of Holiday stations webcasting online," George T. Bundy, Chairman and CEO of BRS Media Inc., was quoted as saying in the report. "Internet Radio listeners are just one click away from hundreds of stations streaming holiday cheer. Whether at Work, at Home, or Shopping Online listeners have a worldwide variety of Christmas stations to choose, everything from the Classics, Smooth Jazz and Oldies to Celtic, Country and of course North Pole Radio are all streaming online."
According to estimates, more than 68% of terrestrial radio stations broadcasting Christmas music offer online streaming radio. The number has increased from 60% in 2006. In the year 2005, the number was just 35%. Apparently, the total number of Christmas stations streaming their Holiday cheer Online has increased to twice the original number over the last two years.
BRS Media had rolled out its radio directory with two stations in the autumn of 1995. Currently, Web-Radio offers more than 10,000 radio station web sites, with around 5000 stations streaming their music online.
To search for their favorite station, Web-Radio listeners need to enter the call letters (KI-KJ, WA-WB), format (Kids/Preteen, Adult Contemporary), state, country and Internet-only.
