SkyCross Antennas to be Purchased by Hisense for a Number of Wireless Devices

SkyCross (News - Alert), a global wireless company that offers antenna-centric, radio-frequency (RF) solutions, has been selected by Chinese manufacturer Hisense (News - Alert) for its SkyCross antennas for wireless devices, according to a Businesswire news report. The devices supported range from sophisticated multi-function mobile handsets for mature markets to fixed wireless phones for developing economies. SkyCross will offer support to Hisense from its design facility in Shanghai, which was set-up recently, and existing design and manufacturing plants in Shenzhen, China.

Hisense has had a huge role to play in the market adoption of wireless devices in China. Ranked number 7 in the 2007 Top 100 Electronics Manufacturers list issued by the Chinese Ministry of Information, the company had a net profit growth of over 22 percent in the first half of 2007. SkyCross will offer support to this Chinese manufacturing giant by offering antennas for dozens of projects.
By using SkyCross antennas, designers at Hisense can focus on creating a comprehensive range of consumer electronics that are enabled with services such as voice, data, and location. In several cases, the multi-band antennas for mobile handsets can support GSM and/or CDMA along with GPS, Bluetooth, and other functions. Additionally, SkyCross provides 450 MHz antennas for fixed wireless phones. All these products are sold in countries without a wired infrastructure.
