Fax over IP provider and maker of Zetafax fax software Equisys has released version 4.1 of its Zetadocs for Microsoft (News - Alert) Dynamics NAV software solution, enabling the management of a variety of business processes through a broadened capability of electronic capture and document delivery.

This next-generation add-on comes packed with a drag-and-drop capture for NAV’s Classic Client, and document processing feature, as well as an automated data entry and filing capability that utilizes text from captured documents.  

In addition, version 4.1 is now open to users of NAV’s Classic Client in Zetadocs Capture editions. But, it doesn’t stop there, as Equisys is looking into the development of SharePoint in the cloud for the upcoming debut of Office 365.

The new document capture feature drags and drops e-mails, faxes and scanned documents onto the Equisys fast tab in the NAV Role Tailored Client. Then, the file is automatically uploaded to SharePoint, where appropriate links are created in NAV.  

Improvements have also been made to the document delivery capabilities, especially for finance teams. Now, complex documents such as large drawings or multi-page spreadsheets, can be added to NAV reports during the e-mail process. During the processing of a document, users can check items in the document queue to ensure that others don’t start working on the same sheet.

In addition, Optical Character Recognition is enabled, therefore, users can remove text from a scanned document, give it to partner written code in NAV, where it’s automatically filed and linked. Thus, the need for manual data entry can be eliminated, while an efficient workflow is created. Lastly, client software installation is simplified with the support of group policy roll-out on the new version.  

According to company officials, the next-generation Zetadocs has vastly improved users’ experiences with SharePoint 2010.

As reported by TMCnet, Equisys in October 2010 deployed new software to help its document production and delivery technology work more efficiently. Equisys therefore deployed Netbricks IAF-Bricks technology by Enea (News - Alert), a developer of global software and services focused on solutions for communication-driven products.

The new version of Zetadocs for NAV is currently available from approved Equisys partners, and comes in several languages, including English, Dutch and French. Out-of-the-box support for NAV’s U.K., North American, Belgian, Dutch and worldwide databases is also available.
