Much like 'The Force,' digital transformation surrounds us all, binding industry; driving new hope for innovation, and awakening the force of developers everywhere to craft a software-defined future fit for an emperor. Touching all points of technology, from the contact center and workforce optimization, to the data center and the c-suite, the force of digital transformation is strong.

A sign of the times are mergers and acquisitions, and recently digital transformation firm Perficient (News - Alert) announced the purchase of custom development, cloud implementation and digital experience design firm Clarity Consulting.

“We are excited to further strengthen Perficient with the strategic acquisition of Clarity (News - Alert),” said Jeffrey Davis, Perficient’s chairman and chief executive officer. “Microsoft’s cloud momentum is accelerating, and Clarity’s outstanding capabilities, impressive client roster, and strong reputation expand and enhance our formidable market presence and broaden and deepen our long-standing partnership with Microsoft (News - Alert).”

As a result of the acquisition, Clarity’s expertise in development and digital design on Microsoft platforms instantly expands Perficient’s Microsoft qualifications and offerings – in addition to augmented software design capabilities as well as intellectual property assets.

The deal also expands presence for Perficient in the North Central Region, as Clarity was based in the enterprise-rich Chicago market. It adds more than 150 team members, and a number of strategic client relationships.

In terms of leadership, Clairty founders Jon Rauschenberger and Jeff Smith (News - Alert) will continue leadership roles with the new and improved Perficient.

“Perficient is well known for its expertise across many technology platforms and is widely regarded as one of the largest and most capable Microsoft systems integrator partners in the country,” Smith said. “Joining the Perficient team accelerates our collective opportunities for continued growth and success.”

Digital transformation is driving much in the way of change, introducing complexity while simultaneously simplifying operations. The future is now. Be one with ‘The Force,’ errrr, digital transformation, and the future will turn toward the light…
