Chime Solutions Expands Call Center Workforce in Charlotte, North Carolina
As Americans grapple with the global COVID-19 pandemic, they’ve made changes to their life and health insurance policies. Call centers that support these industries are always critical operations, but during challenging times, customers are reevaluating their coverage and reaching out to the companies that insure them, making call center operations more important than ever.
Call center services provider Chime Solutions recently announced the addition of 250 more jobs at its call center in University City, North Carolina. The open positions are for life and health insurance agents. Chime Solutions is headquartered in Morrow, Georgia.
According to WSOTV News, Chime was awarded a grant by the North Carolina Community College System to provide training for the open positions in partnership with Central Piedmont Community College. CPCC will train and “upskill” job candidates by providing pre-licensing training to new employees seeking the positions. Chime will cover the costs for testing to attain licenses.
“This partnership and the jobs that we’re bringing to Charlotte fit perfectly with the city’s upward mobility goals and it also gives us access to a very talented workforce. We are excited to be here and I look forward to a great future in Charlotte," Chime CEO Mark Wilson said in a press conference last week.
The City of Charlotte provided grants for Chime Solutions expansion, including the city’s first Opportunity Hiring Grant.
“These new jobs, along with the upskilling that will be provided to employees is a testament of our commitment to supporting the diverse workforce that we’re proud to have here in Charlotte," said Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles. "This will be an excellent use of Opportunity Hiring Grant program and we’re looking forward to helping our friends at Chimes Solutions fill these jobs quickly with deserving and talented people.”
Since 2019, Chime Solutions leases approximately 75,000 square feet at 7201 University Oaks Drive, which is part of Innovation Park in University City. Outside of Charlotte and its Georgia headquarters, Chime also has an office in Dallas.
