Foot Locker Deploys Enterprise Workforce Management Solution for Interactive Customer Service

In order to meet a business’s goals, enterprises must rely on workforce management software because without the right tools in place to identify and correct weaknesses, customer interactions will definitely suffer.

Foot Locker, Inc. has recently rolled out RedPrairie’s Enterprise Workforce Management (EWFM) at 2,700 retail stores throughout North America. The show and sports apparel company decided to partner with RedPrairie, a global supply chain and retail technology provider, in order to enable store associates to offer exceptional interactive customer service.


RedPrairie's supply chain, workforce, and all-channel retail solutions have put commerce in motion for businesses all over the world. Currently installed in over 60,000 customer sites across more than 50 countries, its solutions ensure visibility and collaboration between manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and even consumers.

"At Foot Locker, we realize that the passion, knowledge, and performance of our store associates is a tremendous asset for our customers," said Dick Johnson, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Foot Locker, Inc, in a statement. "We felt that RedPrairie's workforce management solution was the most intuitive, robust and scalable resource available to help us achieve our vision of being the leading global retailer of athletically-inspired shoes and apparel."

Completed in April, Foot Locker's implementation of RedPrairie EWFM began as a 21-store pilot. The solution was then deployed at its remaining North American locations between April and July.

RedPrairie EWFM with Workforce Management and Execution Management integration is an effective tool for retailers that want to drive sales across their entire retail footprint. RedPrairie EWFM will allow for the holistic management of Foot Locker’s workforce through innovative applications that address time and attendance, forecasting, scheduling, labor standards, as well as execution management.

Noel Goggin, senior vice president, retail at RedPrairie added, “The success and seamlessness of this deployment is testimony to the commitment Foot Locker places on improving the in-store experience through empowered associates, and the priority RedPrairie places on speed-to-value for our customers.”

Additionally, Foot Locker will use the RedPrairie Performance Management Reporting Module to transform data into business intelligence that allows the right employees to be in the right place at the right time. Thus, raising the bar on customer satisfaction.

Foot Locker operates about 3,400 stores in 23 countries in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand through its Foot Locker, Footaction, Lady Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Champs Sports, and CCS retail stores, as well as its direct-to-customer channels, including Eastbay, Footlocker.com and CCS.com, the company it provides athletic footwear and apparel to.
