IP-based Video Analytic Solutions from NICE Chosen for Major City Security Project
By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor
As cities and law enforcement agencies across the world increasingly seek protection from the threat of criminal and illegal activity in public places, the need to monitor activity by utilizing new leading technologies, is essential.
For many government and law enforcement agencies the latest solution in helping police deter city-center criminal activities has been to set up video systems.
Today, NICE Systems (News - Alert) announced they are working on a major security project award order for over $5 million to provide their IP-based digital content analytics solutions for implementation at a major international city's police force.
With the solution, the city's public authorities will be able to offer more security in public places like government buildings as well as for public transportation.
The solution will work by delivering real-time alerts on potential threats and includes the ability to monitor simultaneous locations. It also provides analytic capabilities as well as an automatic alarm management feature.
With this, it will be possible to improve response time for security personnel and the police as well as provide playback of events leading to incidents or posing a threat. This information and increased insight into incidents will also assist in better and quicker decisions whenever threats arise.
"This win is further evidence that NICE's advanced content analytics along with our superior digital video performance can significantly increase the speed of threat detection and efficiency of corrective action. It also reflects the success of our strategy for large scale multi-million dollar security projects, providing advanced solution to city centers, other public authorities and governments all over the world, which are seeking to enhance their capabilities in protecting the public," commented Israel Livant, President, Security Group in a statement.
