United Wireless, a local wireless telecommunications provider, has recently extended its roaming capabilities through Transaction Network Services, a global provider of data communications and interoperability solutions.
TNS’s (News - Alert) extensive range of roaming solutions, including the TNS CDMA Roaming eXchange will help carriers, like United Wireless, and operators of all sizes, enhance service capabilities, expand coverage and maximize revenue.
In a press release, Mike Laskowsky, Wireless Network manager from United Wireless, said, "We're very pleased to be working with TNS. It was important to us to find a provider willing to collaborate and share their expertise. United Wireless was searching for not just the right platform to develop our customer proposition, but also a strategic partnership with the likes of an experienced player like TNS. For operators of our size, relationships and respect are the foundation of a successful business. The relationship with TNS allows us to enhance our service by adding new roaming functionality without the need for additional, specialized head count."
Officials confirmed that the selection of TNS will further help United Wireless streamline operations by consolidating suppliers, leverage TNS' consultative expertise, and expand coverage and functionality for both inbound and outbound roamers.
"We value our relationships with, and appreciate the challenges faced by, regional operators. Our strength lies in the combination of our advanced platforms, technical proficiency and dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our customers. Deploying the TNS roaming suite allows United Wireless to enhance their business and gives TNS the opportunity to cooperate closely with a progressive regional provider, said Dan Dooley, president of TNS' Telecommunications Services Division.
In related news, Primus Australia, a part of PTGi, announced that Transaction Network Services has connected to the Primus Metro Fiber over Optical Transport Network to support its Australian office network infrastructure.
