According to Tim Maxson, COO of ERF Wireless (News - Alert), a Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) founded in 2004 that provides secure, high-capacity broadband services in rural areas to residential and commercial customers (in the fields of oil and gas, banking, healthcare and education), ERF is a company that is always looking for ways to provide the best value for customers, while at the same time cutting costs. The company has made an announcement that is in line with this objective.
ERF Wireless announced that it has signed a contract with Assisted Energy LLC to be the exclusive reseller of lighting and surveillance equipment in Oklahoma, Louisiana and South Texas.
Assisted Energy LLC is a company that provides, for lease or rent, rig site lighting solutions to gas and oil job sites. Their products are environmentally friendly and cost-effective. The partnership with this company will allow ERF’s subsidiary Energy Broadband Inc. a way to provide increased services from ERF’s terrestrial network to the rig site with less costs.
Energy Broadband is a subsidiary that brings broadband communication to energy companies allowing them to run all the applications needed to manage their work and make decisions in real-time. Prior to being able to use digital broadband communication, companies in the field were obliged to use expensive local lines or costly satellite circuits. Now, they are able to use effective and reliable voice and data services in their drilling sites and operations center just as in their headquarters.
Bringing these additional services to the field and being able to do that without too much impact on costs offers ERF a great way to bring more value to its customers and increase its presence in the market.
Assisted Energy COO Nick Mackie is also pleased by the partnership. He believes his company far outweighs other providers of lighting solutions thanks to offering products that are cost-effective and that don’t require major support or operation costs to end users. Working with ERF, a company with a strong presence in the market of broadband communications for the oil and gas industry, made sense to Mackie who sees similar core values in the two companies and similar business practices.
The partnership can potentially help both companies increase their strength in the oil and gas field by joining forces and providing a wider range of assistance products to companies in that market.
