The Conference Group Boosts Web Conferencing with $99 User License
By Amy Tierney, TMCnet Web Editor
To coincide with the recent growth of Web conferencing services and companies’ need to reduce spending, The Conference Group recently introduced a 1,000-seat user license with unlimited access for flat rate of $99 per month.
The new rate comes at a time when companies are using online communications more and more, according to officials from the Delware-based full-service audio, video and Web conferencing company.
The Conference Group’s (News - Alert) ReadyShow Web conferencing solution offers users a host of features, including chatting, slide pushing, polling and streaming video for a flat fee. The platform also lets companies conduct Web tours, demonstrate Web services, or tap online content during presentations. Users can also share desktop applications for software demonstrations and training.
With ReadyShow Web, companies can tailor the Web collaboration services to meet their specific needs. For example, the solution is ideal for companies looking to host Webinars, Greg Plum (News - Alert), director of channel development, The Conference Group, told TMCnet in an interview.
“It’s more cost effective,” Plum said. “This [service] gives people the ability to conduct Webinars inexpensively.”
ReadyShow Web conferencing, which combines software, telecommunications and broadcasting services, gives companies an interactive way to communicate over the Internet. Audio bridging charges are extra. User can either use operator-assisted calls or opt to have reservationless access, depending on their needs.
With the flat rate, customers can save more than $3,500 each month if they host a weekly, 60-minute, 100-participant conference and paid a 15 cents per-minute fee, Plum said.
And in the current economic climate when companies continue to slice their travel budgets, companies like The Conference Group will likely see an increased adoption of Web conferencing services.
“The growth of Web conferencing is profound at this point because people want to continue to interact,” Plum said. “It’s not as saturated on the audio side.”
What’s the other driver raising the Web conferencing market’s visibility? Cost. Depending on Web service is far less expensive as the price of the service continues to drop, Plum said.
