igxglobal Inc., a provider of security and network products and services, has become a new member of Certeon's (News - Alert) global partner program, which will enable the company to act as a reseller of Certeon aCelera software solutions.

Certeon, a provider of virtualized WAN optimization and application acceleration solutions as well as its aCelera family of software-based solutions includes several products. There is aCelera Virtual Appliance, which eliminates the need for proprietary WAN acceleration, aCelera Client for optimized desktop-to-data-center performance and aCelera Sync for efficient business continuity over the WAN.
aCelera software runs on industry-standard servers, workstations and desktops running VMware ESX/ESXi, Microsoft (News - Alert) Hyper-V or XEN hypervisors. Certeon claims that its aCelera virtual appliances enable enterprises and managed service providers to dramatically increase the performance of applications accessed over the WAN, improving application response time by up to 95 percent. aCelera's network optimization capabilities also enable enterprises to reduce their network bandwidth requirements, allowing for lower overall capital and operating costs.
'Today's virtualized IT infrastructures, especially those supported by managed service providers, require the flexibility of a virtualized WAN acceleration solution in order to deliver cost-effective, high-performance services,' said Peter Dougherty, CEO and president at Certeon.
'aCelera's performance, security, flexibility and scalability enable igxglobal to help its customers minimize the hardware infrastructure required to deliver hosted application services with the lowest TCO,' Dougherty added.
Through this partner program, igxglobal will now offer its enterprise and managed service provider customers significant improvements in remote application performance and also reducing the costs of delivering enhanced services.
As distributed enterprises demand an effective means to access data both inside the enterprise as well as from remote service providers, igxglobal believes that by combining its services with Certeon aCelera solutions, can meet such needs.
'Certeon's aCelera virtual appliances are software only; they are easy to deploy and support the growing needs of igxglobal customers to offer secure, cost-effective remote application performance to their users,' Barry Johnson, president and chief technology officer at igxglobal said.
'Certeon's aCelera enables us to provide our customers with remote application response time that matches local performance - a critical capability in today's distributed enterprise,' Johnson added.
