Expand Networks (News - Alert), a provider of WAN optimization solutions for branch office consolidation and virtualization, announced the appointment of Markus Richter as sales director for Central Europe.


Based in Munich, Richter will assume the role of driving Expand Networks’ market penetration in Central Europe, along with maintaining and developing the company’s competitive strengths across Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Eastern Europe.

Richter will report to Christian Honore, vice president of Sales EMEA.

TMCnet recently reported Christian Honore of Expand Networks has been promoted to the position of vice president of sales, EMEA. In his new role Honore is responsible to oversee the Company’s continued growth and investment across the region.

Christian said Richter’s appointment comes at a key stage in the Company’s European expansion.

“As we move forward into a new phase of European growth, Markus’ wealth of experience will prove an invaluable asset to the team,” Christian said. “His in depth knowledge of the industry across the region will help in facilitating new business opportunities for our sustained and strategic growth.”

Richer has over 21 years of experience in IT industry. He has held senior roles in various blue chip organizations including McAffee, Ericsson, Easynet and Siemens (News - Alert).

Prior to joining Expand Networks, Richer worked with LANcope, where he held the position of sales director for central Europe.

According to Expand Networks officials, Richter’s strong technical experience and in-depth market know-how makes him perfectly positioned to further extend Expand’s penetration in these key markets.
