In an effort to expand its offering beyond IP voice transport, BandTel (News - Alert), a VoIP telephone carrier, has reportedly acquired Belmont, N.H.-based MCCT Inc.
Prior to the acquisition, BandTel’s offering included SIP-Trunking telecom transport products and managed telecom services. BandTel's SIP Trunking services are specially designed for the enterprises of all sizes, call centers, and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) environments.
The fact that the Matrix IVR services compliment BandTel’s offering was reason enough for the VoIP telecom provider to take over MCCT. Now with an access to the full suite of MCCT’s Matrix IVR Technology assets, BandTel will be able to expand and enhance its product line up. As for example, BandTel’s Business-Connect solution, a managed phone service that strives to bring the high tech PBX (News - Alert) infrastructure to the customer premise without the expenses relating to infrastructure and training, will now come bundled with more features, value added endpoint services and applications that were not available previously.
By giving full control over MCCT’s equipment stock, and directly connecting BandTel to Matrix customer base, the acquisition gives this global VoIP provider a competitive edge over its business rivals in the market.
The integration of the Matrix IVR technologies into its product line also widens the possibilities for creating new, innovative products and services within BandTel. The Matrix IVR Platform is an all-inclusive Application Generator system that supports conversion of text to speech (TTS) for voice prompts and other messages, continuous word speech recognition, conferencing with GUI interfaces for administrators and operators, fax broadcast and fax-on-demand and more.
The applications based on MATRIX IVR platform can support wide-ranging features such as Teleconferencing, SMS messaging, unified messaging, Internet phones, prepaid calling and many more.
“Acquisition of the Matrix makes sense for us on so many fronts. With Matrix, BandTel as a VoIP telephone carrier can now go far beyond just offering IP voice transport, and begin to field value add endpoint services and applications that previously were not possible,” BandTel CEO Pete Sandstrom explained in a statement. “The critical mass needed to offer this sort of value add custom telecom applications was simply too high for most end users to be practical. But now, by offering Matrix as a service coupled to the BandTel NPlus-Network, custom IVR application of any size can be made feasible for a much wider audience. We are very excited about the synergy Matrix brings to our network and our product portfolio.”
As noted in a news statement, BandTel is going to assume all operations associated with MCCT’s Matrix IVR product line, from the beginning of the next month. Customers can rest assure of receiving the customer support in the same manner they received prior to the acquisition.
