VoIPSwitch's Oglaza to Discuss Mobile VoIP Possibilities at ITEXPO

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Another interesting company participating at ITEXPO (News - Alert) East in Miami this week is VoIPSwitch, a subsidiary of Voiceserve.

VoIPSwitch is an applications development company developing VoIP softswitch platforms for telecommunications service providers.'

Their product has Class 5 features, a calling card platform with IP IVR including pin or pinless scenarios, a callback feature supporting all types of triggering methods - SMS, missed call, Web call back, whatever - and a multi-tenant, multi-user IP-PBX (News - Alert) platform.

They're doing pretty well, too. Last year company officials announced record revenues for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2009, with revenues of $1,931,529, 'an increase of approximately 107 percent over the revenue for the prior year ended March 31st 2008.'

Alexander Ellinson, Voiceserve president and chairman, attributed the results to 'the market’s acceptance of our software and our focus on delivering VoIP, positive customer experiences, and increased efficiencies.”

The company's Chris Oglaza will be at ITEXPO, where he'll participate in a session titled “Mobile VoIP, Imagine the Possibilities,” scheduled for Wednesday from noon to 12:45 p.m.

Oglaza's a co-founding director of Voipswitch who, during his studies for his master's degree, became a partner in Intermic S.C. a local Internet provider in Poland.

'In 2002 Intermik was incorporated by Netia (News - Alert) Holding the largest Polish Private Telecom company. Thereafter Voipswitch was founded,' according to the information provided on the company's Web site.

VoIPSwitch officials say that the popularity of 3G smartphone devices, along with the emergence of applications and faster connectivity, 'makes the mobile network an ideal platform for developing applications that incorporate real-time VoIP.'

Yes, of course there are still challenges regarding audio quality, network resources, and, perhaps most difficult of all, corporate mindset, which are 'inhibiting widespread delivery and adoption of mobile VoIP.'

Oglaza's session will 'discuss the new set of requirements that emerges when VoIP functionality is implemented on mobile devices and networks, and how optimal voice quality can be achieved,' according to VoIPSwitch officials.

The speakers will also address the state of the mobile VoIP market and what is required for the mobile VoIP market to evolve.

Last summer Michael Bibelman, CEO of VoIPSwitch, told TMC's (News - Alert) CEO Rich Tehrani that since VoIPSwitch officials 'see an excellent response to our mobile products, much higher than we expected,' they have 'allocated more resources to speed up the development of this group of our products.”

During ITEXPO, the company will also be presenting their ip pbx project “CalltoPBX,” a hosted PBX platform for business and residential users that includes unified messaging, mobile VoIP and an auto attendant.
