Voiceserve subsidiary, VoIPSwitch, a London-based developer of VoIP platform solutions, has announced its software’s acceptance into the Symbian (News - Alert) Foundation.

 

This membership not only includes the ability to license the Symbian Foundation platform, royalty free but will also reportedly allow the company to work together with other companies and working groups as well as participate in joint marketing programs.

Chris Oglaza, CTO and co-founder of VoIPSwitch said the company will partner with the Symbian platform and expects to offer new technologies and services “in the coming months.”

Using the VoIPSwitch platform, operators have all the tools necessary to rapidly and successfully implement VoIP services. Also, by joining the Symbian Foundation, it is now possible for other foundation members to make use of these features and further enhance user experiences.

 

Members of the Symbian Foundation share a vision “to create the most proven, open and complete mobile software platform - and to make it available for free.”

To create an open source platform for members, the foundation brings together Symbian OS, S60, UIQ and MOAP software.

VoIPSwitch recently announced a number of new features including a callback application for BlackBerry and Android, a new VoIP Tunnel Client for ATCOM PBX series and a new graphical interface for Nokia’s touch-screen E97 and Express Music models.
