Tone Software Corporation, which sells monitoring and management products for telecoms and IT, has announced a distribution and reseller partnership with CeDimension Italia.
CeDimension officials say through ReliaTel and Streamline, CeDimension "will not only conduct VoIP pre-network assessments to determine its clients’ readiness for VoIP, but will provide management of faults, performance, QoS, traffic, and network capacity for multi-platform, IP-enabled voice and data environments that support mobility, collaboration and unified communications."
Shirley Balarezo, president, Tone Software (News - Alert) Corporation, said this partnership "will both expand Tone’s presence in Europe and provide an opportunity to use the converged voice management capabilities of ReliaTel and Streamline across many European organizations.”
Early this year TMC's (News - Alert) Brendan B. Read reported on ReliaTel, saying that the Canadian government blessed the $915 million sale of Nortel’s (News - Alert) enterprise division to Avaya, which it had won in auction Sept.14.
"For Nortel equipment owners the good news is that Avaya will continue to support Nortel’s product line," Read wrote, adding that Tony Clement, Canada’s Minister of Industry announced that Nortel’s former R&D center in Belleville, Ontario will become “a center for worldwide hardware development and support."
Tone Software officials noted that their ReliaTel-Streamline technology "manages both Avaya (News - Alert) and Nortel equipment, across both the TDM and VoIP technologies from each manufacturer."
CeDimension provides IT packages throughout Southern Europe. The Milan-based vendor will be marketing and supporting the ReliaTel and Streamline technologies in the Italian, Portuguese, French and Spanish regions.
“As our clients adopt VoIP technologies and migrate their voice traffic to their data networks, it is imperative to deploy integrated solutions that ensure voice network performance, uptime and call quality,” said Bruno Del Pra, president, CeDimension Italia S.R.L.
Del Pra says CeDimension chose the ReliaTel and Streamline technologies based on their "capabilities to manage both the data and IP voice aspects of the business network."
European voice network topologies include new offerings from Avaya and Cisco (News - Alert), as well as a base of Siemens, Alcatel-Lucent and other voice technologies.
