Recently, at the Enterprise Connect (News - Alert) conference in Orlando, Mitel unveiled its latest 6800i series of IP business phones that utilize open standards-based SIP protocol.
This new SIP phone series has been designed to offer the broadest interoperability, and support both on-premise and hosted services with the best path for businesses migrating to the cloud.
It further expands Mitel (News - Alert)'s comprehensive offering of business phones and enterprise voice solutions.
Mitel's 6800i Series SIP phones features GigE Ethernet ports to support implementation on high speed networks, phone customization with programmable soft keys and high quality audio. Remarkable HD wideband audio, an enhanced speakerphone and advanced audio processing are some of the other features of the 6800i series.
In a press statement, Dave Johnson (News - Alert), marketing manager for Business Communications at Mitel, said: "Mitel phones are all about empowering our customers to make the connections they need to drive and grow their business. Adding the 6800i series to our portfolio further expands customer choice with highly interoperable phones that are designed to work with all of the world's leading IP call platforms. We deliver enterprise-quality voice and features that make our phones highly effective, supporting our customers in their migration to the cloud."
The 6800i series offers crystal clear, hands-free conversations and also provides color graphical displays, DHSG/EHS headset support and an extensive array of accessories such as expansion modules and a detachable keyboard.
Officials said that the 6800i series, with lower power consumption, intelligent Power over Ethernet Class reporting and smaller packaging that includes 100 percent recycled and biodegradable material, is indeed one of the most environmentally friendly family of SIP phones on the market.
In February, TMCnet reported that Mitel has added new mobile chat and multichannel self-service options in its MiContact solution, to serve the needs of different customers by allowing them to select the media and device to use.
